４月８日入学式が行われました。新たな生活への不安を抱え入学してきた新入生もいましたが、温かく在校生に迎え入れられ、帝京ロンドン学園での新生活に期待をよせている様子でした。式では在校生からの歓迎の挨拶があり、英語でスピーチをする３年生の姿を見て、これからの学園生活での目標が明確になったように感じました。しっかり学び、成長してくれることを願い、教職員一同、全力でサポートをしていきたいと考えています。
Welcome speech
Congratulations everyone. Welcome to Teikyo School. I am Vice-President of the Student’s Union.Now, you must have come to England with great hopes and new dreams. However, you must also have worries about your new life in a foreign country. Of course, this is only natural and 1 or 2 years ago we also experienced the same feelings. We have overcome the worries and difficulties by talking with and getting advice from our classmates, seniors and teachers who have become like a family to us.From now on you are one of our family, so please ask us anything when you have problems.
Teikyo School offers you the chance to try many things. You can improve your English skills by meeting people from different cultural back grounds. You can join a local club and make friends with people who live in this area. You may be thinking “My English is not good enough” or “I am shy”. But, even if you are not good at English, you need to be positive, you need to be active and you need to take the first step. If you do these things, your English will definitely improve.
Your life in Teikyo will be a busy one. There are various events throughout the year.
Japanese Day, the Open Day, and Sports Day, and we also have some opportunities to go on school trips twice a year and also experience skiing in Europe. I am certain these will be unforgettable for you.
The most important thing I want to say is whether your school life here at Teikyo is fulfilling or not is entirely up to you. Your classmates, seniors and teachers are there to support you at every point. Ultimately, if you want to have a rewarding time here, it is you who needs to keep an open mind and it is you who needs to actively use all the opportunities that Teikyo provides.
We hope wholeheartedly that you will find the next 3 years in Teikyo School enjoyable and rewarding.
